The Kids Meet The Rescue Dogs For The First Time And Murphy’s Law
We took the kids, all her were born blind, out to the humane society farm to meet the rescue dogs and puppies available for adoption. Lulu is a three year old hound mix, Sadie is a five week old beagle mix puppy, and Murphy is a 5 week old mastiff mix, but he’s probably mostly pit bull. Mom and Joel met these dogs two days ago, but this is the first time the kids have met them, and that they have met the kids.
In the past Abi has had a fear of dogs, but mostly because she is afraid of them jumping on her and surprising her, so she tends to “brace” herself for what might come. We’ve been trying to help her with that anxiety and, as you can see, she is doing a great job in progressing past her limitations and fears.
We used to have a family dog, a hound mix Buddy, but he passed away about 5 years ago at the age of 15. We had rescued him from a shelter when he was about 4 months old. It ‘s been five years since we’ve had our own dog in our home.
So picking a new dog is a big deal, and we’re taking it very seriously.
